Break the Block

As an extension of Brag’s ethos, Break the Block was born out of our inherent need to break blocks and shape culture. As part of the Dubai Food Festival, Brag conceptualised and produced Dubai’s first ever street food block party celebrating the city’s counter-culture through music, food, and art. Supported by DTCM and Dubai Design Distrct (d3), Break the Block is a platform that spotlights international and regional music and art talent, reflecting the passion of today’s creative community and tomorrow’s tastemakers.

In its first edition, Break the Block was a two-day event that set the scene for some of the region’s rising stars to be featured, while inviting a slew of foodies, skaters and street artists to showcase their talent within a collaborative atmosphere that brought together young artistic souls from across the region.

In 2024, we took Break the Block to another level, expanding the experience at a new location in Al Forsan Park, Expo City. This time, the event took place on one night, but packed in some of the most exciting names in music such as British funk and dance phenomena, Jungle and electro pioneer, Nightmares on Wax, as well as some of the brightest DJ stars in the region.
